They have missed their chances to make it a game.

Here is a description of the French Broad River flow...As far as "Mollyhopped", I have no idea. I believe it starts just NW of Rosman. Copied this from Wikipedia.

The French Broad River begins just west of the Eastern Continental Divide. From there it flows northeasterly through the Appalachian Mountains. The river follows a general northeasterly direction through Transylvania, Henderson, and Buncombe counties. In Buncombe County, the river flows through the city of Asheville, where it receives the water of the Swannanoa River. Downstream of Asheville, the river proceeds north through Madison County, where it flows through its county seat, Marshall. After passing through the mountain resort of Hot Springs in the Bald Mountains, the river enters Cocke County, Tennessee.

Great Trout, Smallmouth and Muskie fishing.

Thanks for the info, but I was referring to how it got its name!

The French Broad River was named by European settlers centuries ago because it was one of the two broad rivers in western North Carolina. The one which flowed into land claimed by France at that time was named the "French Broad River", whereas the other, which stayed in land claimed by England – the Colony of North Carolina – was named the "English Broad River". (The latter was later renamed simply the "Broad River"). The Indigenous Americans of this area, the Cherokee Indians, called it different names: Poelico, Agiqua (broad) in the mountains, Tahkeeosteh (racing waters) from Asheville down and Zillicoah above Asheville.[8] The French called it the Agiqua, borrowing one of the Cherokee names.

The UTC QB Bennifield took a nasty hit and left in an ambulance. He did walk off the field, but with help. I hope it looked worse than it is. I think it was his first game back from suspension

Right now WC is looking like the best team in the league, and they will have wins to prove it. Chatty is in big trouble.

24-0 Western. Wofford will be playing a red hot Western team that is lighting teams up.

WCU scored two defensive touchdowns. Chatt's offense is just bad.

I feel like the hit on Bennefield should have been flagged, the player led with the crown of the helmet

Pardon the digression, but the powers who run football at all levels are completely clueless. As a grandfather of an 11 year old who loves football, the NFL, NCAA and high school athletic leaders, by ignoring the cheap shots and stupid roughness of the game, are driving parents to keep kids from playing. Just dumb!!!!

I've been out of pocket today so I didn't see any of the games, but based off the scores, it seems that Western beat Chattanooga handily. With what they are doing offensively to every team they face plus the fact that they seem to have a defense again I see no way to avoid saying they are the best team in the SoCon right now. I'm not sure they can avoid a "Western being Western" game along the way to keep them from going undefeated, but what previously seemed like a SoCon warm up game for Wofford now has the look and feel of a make or break game with tons of championship implications. We shall see if Wofford can come up with a scheme to slow the Catamounts down. More than likely Western will be stacking the box, taking away the FB and daring us to do something different.

Western has the best offense in the Socon. Arguably, they haven't played a great defense yet.

Something's gonna give on Saturday, but we haven't played well enough to make me feel confident that we will win.
