Well no updates from anyone. Here's my guess from Kentucky.

Run run run.
Run run run
Run run run
Slipped a pass or 2 in. One goes for a TD.

Defense dominates the scrimmage as we run the ball all the time, and our defense is a run stopping defense.

Coach is not thrilled with where we are. Young guys and veterans have a long way to go. Coach is glad the game was not tonight or we would have been beaten by Furman

Or something like that......

How close?

U r close 19 although it is only the first scrimmage and more practices to go yet. My guess is that the O has more to work on than D. So the O might not have all of their ducks in a row and as a result make a few mistakes. Hopefully the offense will make it competitive and avoid a blowout. However the D with their stellar performance should make the O execute at a higher level resulting in a better O by game time Sept 2. Updates may come later tonight if not tomorrow. Also there should be something from Goupstate. I will be very surprised if there isn't anything.

I hope Brown and Jeresaty aren't seriously injured! Also hate to see Phelps lost for the season!

So y'all should kill my Furman guys for now. New coach, new system etc. tons of graduated guys ...

What position did Phelps play?

In all seriousness about FU. I'm SUPER excited to have Clay Hendrix coaching us. He was our OL coach for all three national title appearances. That's something. Then he goes to Air Force and they take over Navy's spot as the best service academy (football wise). He was my top choice. Then We get Staggs from Charleston Southern who engineered their top ten Defense (top ten twice). Probably take a year or three but I am super excited for the long-term future ... I figure you Guys whoop us this year. You are far more 'mature' in your system. We have a new system on both sides of the ball (even moving from a 4-3 to a 3-4) and you are also our very first game. Not a good combination for us

Anyway, what position did phelps play? Was he a starter?

Phelps is a true Fr. so IMHO he would not have been a big factor any way although sad that he is hurt. Don't want anybody on any team to be hurt but it is the nature of the game. http://www.goupstate.com/sports/2017081 ... -scrimmage

Sounds like it may be hard to keep Miller Mosely off the field. Since he already has redshirted he should have the next four years at Wofford. Once again we seem to have the ability to move the ball by passing it-but will we use that capability?

2nd scrimmage http://athletics.wofford.edu/news/2017/ ... mmage.aspx

MA was quoted that 'a lot of the younger guys took most of the snaps' and 'We are trying to find those guys who can help us at the second or third team level'. Reading between the lines, sounds like the starters, on both O and D, are not only already set but also that they are playing like a well oiled machine. If that were not the case then why would the younger guys be taking most of the snaps ??
