I know a Senior receiver that's worked his tail off to be ready to make a major impact this season. (Hint #19)

Great article: http://amp.timesfreepress.com/news/spor ... ap/440722/

The quote at the end is a life lesson for us all. It's what it is all about. It is the Wofford College mantra. It's the thing athletics and competition teaches/ingrains in you. I am sure the old dogs on this board will concur.

Players are checking in https://twitter.com/WoffordTerriers

2 deep looks very good. With the new Fr class, it could easily change come game time Sept 2. Which players of the Fr class do you think have a good chance of making the 2 deep ?? Lufkin, S. Moore, Priester, Beckett on D. Henis and/or Mina as any kind of kicker. Phelps on O.

We already have a true F starting:
Henis is holder on PATs/FGs.

There's a lot of new faces on the starting lineup for the offense. That may not be a bad thing. With respect to last year's graduating class the one thing that was consistent in the last 4 years on offense was inconsistency (which is something attributable to a variety of factors outside of personnel).

I think the position to watch is ILB. I'm certain the players we have lined up at ILB are good, but with the exception of Wilson/Clemons, they are something of an unknown commodity.

Looking past a first glance, however, it would appear that we are deep and experienced. I can't wait to see what the backups do as many of them (in the secondary, inside linebackers) haven't seen a lot of playing time, but have been in the program for 2 years+

No room for complacency. MA demanding more from team in light of preseason accolades. I like it.

I think MA is thinking of the first two games. We have to come 'out of the gate fast' as he said in one of his interviews. I am not surprised that he was unhappy because he has been talking the get out of the gate fast talk for a while now. And I think he is simply trying to push the guys to do/try their best. If he said effort, execution, etc was good and he acted happy then the team would not try harder. https://www.instagram.com/p/BXRqf4HjruC ... rdterriers

I am always hesitant when we come into a season with high expectations. It is difficult, but a good problem to have as it means we have been doing things right to get to this point.

Maintaining the success is another issue. Ayers is one of the best in this profession at bringing the guys back down to earth, especially after media day when we were essentially "handed the trophy." Look at Nick Saban and what he has to do to motivate his guys year in and year out. You have to tear them down a little to rebuild and redirect their focus to be the hunter again and not the hunted. We haven't been given anything yet, and we don't need to look for a handout as we all know nothing is given to you in this conference.

I would expect much of the same message throughout camp and really pushing the guys past their limits both physically and mentally to be prepared. We have the talent. The next few weeks will be about developing the young guys along with developing a championship mind set and attitude.
