Appears Stamford and several smaller schools have also offered recently.

As another post script to NSD, Austin Lufkin threw the shot put 61 and a half feet yesterday in a meet. That is very impressive. He may be our first Olympian.

Ruckus- I have tried to find Wofford records without much success, but if recent results are any indicator, that would put him well above anything we have ever seen. The SoCon has a pretty strong track record, with ETSU and WCU the normal leaders. It would be great to see him continue to improve while helping us in football.
Still trying to get my head around a throw of over 60'. That is 13' longer than the best in a SoCon meet I just found. He will be something special if he can keep it going. Maybe Wofford will have its own area for track and field when the new Spartanburg High School is built.

HS shot weighs 12lbs and college shot weighs 16lbs. I assume he is throwing the 12 pounder.

In another post script, I have found reason to believe we may have another football/track commitment in OG/C Connor Jacobs from Meridian Idaho (Rocky Mountain High School). 6'1" 295. Looks like a good player who can help us. His dad is a OB/GYN there who went to USC/ETSU. Nothing official mind you so take it for what it's worth.

More on David Marvin. Considered NC State and UNC too. Perhaps NFL in his future. http://www.redandblack.com/sports/kicke ... 0c5db.html

My wife and I with grandparents in tow attended the HSSR All State Football Banquet in Columbia last night. I had the chance to talk with Joe Beckett LB, great young man, also in attendance receiving All State awards Omari Johnson , Shaun Moore, and Dawson Henis. I did not speak with them but they carried themselves as great young 2017 TDOGS commits. We were there with my son who made ALL STATE LB as Soph.

Great event but at the end of the event his coach let me know that The Furples have come calling on him. Had indigestion for hours heading back to chucktown.

Congrats on your son's award, Watdog! Impressive as a Soph. FU won't be the last to come calling.

Austin Lufkin competed in the national track and field meet yesterday. Threw a personal best 62'2" in the shot. Finished 7th nationally. Not too bad.

Since I didn't know where to post this I just put it on the last football post. It is staggering, IMO. However, there is much left out of the article, such as assistant coaches in the revenue sports and the leap in professor's salaries since 2006. College and University costs in general are hard to fathom, but the glut of money in the athletic departments at the Big 5 schools has gotten ridiculous. I wish one of the big programs would adopt us!

For those of you wanting a 2nd QB in his class, it looks like we might have one. This from social media so it's unofficial but QB Corey Cooper from Havelock NC (Havelock High) may be joining this class. Not sure if he is a walk on or not. 5'11" 180 4.69. Looks serviceable.

Played QB on a 13-2 team in a competitive league. Passed for 21 td's and ran for 10. Reminds me a little of Butler; plays with confidence.
