Uh, no.
But not any different than FU or Cid.

A great opportunity for Nate, and I am happy for him--He stays in the area, continues with his recruiting in the area, has an opportunity to learn things from new colleagues, gets a pay raise and puts himself in a position to advance in his chosen profession--In the meantime, someone else has an opportunity to step up--Our defense was awesome, and i knew he would be in demand--and, who knows-the future?

No preseason ranking will matter for any playoff run unless Wofford can execute an average passing game

Agreed Turkey Creek. It is essential to have a pass threat. No need to change the philosophy but if we had at least the threat of a passing game our offense would be so much more effective.

We threw the ball more often with Butler, and likely would have done so with Jacks also. When those two were hurt, we retreated back to a run only scheme. Goodson make a few clutch passes, but struggles when throwing downfield. I'm not sure if Newman has completed a pass, but I doubt we ever had an open receiver against Youngstown.

What I find frustrating is that we have passed the ball better in the past. A key part of of offense was to get the other team putting 10 in the box and then throwing over their heads. We haven't really done that much the last 8 years or so.

No surprise here (best on APR and GSR).
Scroll down to Dec. 8 for the statistics.

Hype is beginning for the championship game. Sad that both teams are playing without a number of players due to drug suspensions. We would hope that the FCS is not becoming what we saw in the old DII, where the castoffs and "can't qualify's" end up playing until they get caught again. It seems like more and more FCS programs are loading up on transfers before they jump to FBS. Is it just me, or does it seem that more and more there is just an attempt to "cheat better," rather than play by the rules?
So, we in the FCS are represented by two teams; each with a significant percentage (up to 15% of the allowed 60?) of their rosters suspended!

I am calling this game the Outlaw Bowl.

As a whole I think the SoCon schools are taking more of a long view of this and building the right way, but it does exist within our league. However, it definitely isn't a prevalent as it is in other leagues. Fortunately, there's not really anyone else in the SoCon capable of a FBS move so that isn't as big of a motivation.

"Outlaw Bowl", (better known as FCS Championship), won by JMU in convincing fashion. Looked pretty balanced, and pretty physical. Stuffed the YS running game. No reason in the world the Terriers can't be that type of a team......looking forward to Feb. 15th spring grind.

Watch for the JMU coach, who did so well at Citadel last year, to be gone sooner instead of later. Gets to leave some of his players' violations behind.

I was calling it the "DOPE BOWL" . Did anyone who watched the game hear the announcers mention the number of players on each team suspended? I admit I didn't see it all, but I heard references to freshmen safeties playing their first game and things like that-but nothing about the drug suspensions.

There was some mention of failed drug tests and suspensions by the commentators.

The final poll shows us at #6-highest in SoCon and probably about right. Had we prevailed against YSU who knows what might have happened.

FCS STAT has us at #9. I think #5 or 6 is more appropriate. Transitive property doesn't always work in sports, but we were the least weak link in the quarterfinals
