Must run the ball well and often, and hold onto it.

Play shutdown D.

Last regular season game for a very good group of seniors.

FOCUS, quietly and assuredly.

The press release lists Brad Butler, but not not Goodson, as seniors for the senior day list.
Is this an oversight, or is he leaving? I hope the former.

The weekly press guide says that Butler took and did well on the MCAT. Regardless, he can still play next fall and then take classes that would help in medical school. It says that David Marvin took the MCAT as well. Don't want to speculate on that. He is headed for a fantastic end to a spectacular Junior season, and a possible first team All -American team.

The radio guys said Hunter Windham is going to law school and skipping his 5th year.

What this means is we better sign 2 QBs in this freshman class.

The Citadel atmosphere was the greatest in a long time at Sparkle City. Lets keep it going for this stretch run

Agree.
And hopefully we can find someone worthy to wear the Number 7.

Getting Butler and Windham back for one more year would be great news. Both have played well. Perhaps Butler's knee problem is too serious; otherwise it would be a real plus if he could rehab and return, with his experience and knowledge ... provides important depth at QB. He was playing very well when injured. Windham's experienced presence would be reassuring too, with LoLo, Gay, Martin, Childress, and Colvin graduating. We will need to identify a new "signature back".

Whatever they decide, per tradition, of course is fine ... academics first. Either way, heartfelt thanks to these classic SHD's!

VMI was playing their 4th team QB by the end of the Citadel game, but still was able to move the ball. I don't know the nature of their starter's injury and whether or not he will play this weekend. Our defensive line will need to keep up the pressure. I suspect they will throw the ball almost every play, and when you throw it that often you occasionally get a big play. Our freshmen in the secondary will get a good workout Saturday, but I am confident they are up to the task.

The played the Citadel within 10 points, but that is actually one of the largest differentials they have had this year.

I hope we can get far enough ahead for Newman to get some snaps. I understand why we burned his redshirt, but he has only taken one snap since that game (an 18 yard run).

I know we have home-field advantage, motivation to win, and a better team, but, like a lot of us older fans, I still have nightmares thinking about VMI.

Incidentally, if we win Saturday, we will tie up the series. Despite our domination of the series as SoCon members, VMI still leads the series.

Here's my weekly prognostication on the VMI game. First, its a MUST win for the Terriers, no ifs-ands-or buts, gotta have it. I don't think VMI is close to matching the SHD's on either side of the ball....not close! Therefore........shutout......WOF 35 VMI 0.

I was talking to some VMI players at the hotel and found out their #1 QB Al Cobb is starting tomorrow. They were down to their #4 QB the last couple of weeks. Cobb dislocated his left shoulder earlier in the season. He was at full speed at practice all week. Hopefully he comes out a bit rusty from the time off.

GO TERRIERS!!!

The key is getting pressure on him. I like our front 7 to do that.
IMO the key to this game for us is getting points, controlling the clock and not turning it over. If our O can grind it out, it will keep our D off the field and fresh.

Do what they have done every week this season. Come out prepared to fight, get after the QB, make VMI one dimensional, and force some turnovers. Every time we get the ball, control the clock and establish the Line of scrimmage. Keep putting points on the board, whether by TD or by Field Goal. Continue the same recipe that has made this season successful. Lets get to 8-3 and get some popcorn ready for the Selection Show tomorrow at 11:00 on ESPN. '

GO TERRIERS!!!!!!!!
