I agree on Shugart who is also a great student I hear.
I have no clue. Seems like our kind of kid. Maybe not quite athletic enough to play OLB and a tad small to play ILB? I don't know.
I just know it's really hard to know all the ins and outs from the bleacher seats. I typically gauge the quality of prospect by the other schools that also want him. FU in my book is pretty good company.
I too get frustrated by kids I see that we pass on.

When it comes to recruiting players, I don’t think a kid should get any kind of special consideration over other kids just because he’s from Spartanburg High School. There might be a better option out there for us. Of course as a Dorman grad I am very biased against SHS!

Do they fit culturally, academically? Do they fit into the scheme of things at their position? (IQ, skill set)... Are they total team guys? What their work ethic? Are they coachable? There's a lot of things to be considered... I am sure Coach Ayers and staff have a checklist as to what they look for and look for at each spot... Trust the process... Their is some success behind it, don't ya think? Not everyone is fit for the SHD people.

There are only somewhere between 10-20 spots on the team any given year. There are hundreds to thousands of potential candidates to fill those spots.

I don't care about who we miss so long as we fill those 10-20 spots with good young men

We have apparently offered LB Kalen Allen of Mallard Creek High in Charlotte. 5'11" 225. Has offers from GWU and Cid with interest from many others.

Saw on twitter from Coach Gesperato that the ILB room just got better. Big time commitment last night. Is this Kalen Allen or somebody new? And just one last update on the Shugart ILB from Spartan High. This week he received preferred walk on status at USC and it was announced yesterday that he is a finalist for Mr. Football in S.C. I know we've talked with him and recruited him and there are probably a myriad of good reasons why he hasn't received an offer from us (heck, maybe he doesn't want to stay home or doesn't like Wofford for some reason, who knows). Just really, really hope he doesn't like the color purple and doesn't accept that Furman schollie offer.

Saw that too. I am assuming Kalen allen just because of the recent offer but IDK.
Shugart is a mystery to me.
I am interested in OLB Markees Watts from Lancaster area too.

OL commit is Al Hogan from Ga. Really like him. Big pick up for us.
Liking this class. Need RB Dante Miller from Richmond County High (NC) and Shrine Bowler to commit.

I would think being 6-0, top 5 in the country and just beating El Cid should be REALLY helpful on the recruiting trail, particularly for anyone on the fence or being pursued by our regional competitors.

Does anyone know how many Schollies we will have for next year. It seems we are still a very young team (at least those on the field). Just curious...Ruckus??

No clue. All depends on who comes back for 5th years.
I know we lose Vaughn, Curtis, Clemons, Vining, Morris (Maybe), and Rivera off starting D.
And Daniels, Rouse, Goodson, Taylor, Gouger, Motes (maybe), and Nelson (maybe) on O.
I'd say conservatively we have 13-15 schollies to give.
