I am looking forward to the start of spring practice on Feb 29. What are our expectations ? Will the O line become a well oiled machine (which is what we need to have a good season IMHO) ? Will the defensive secondary improve with influence of Coach Mance ? What is the latest news on vacant coaching position ? What are positions of strength and weakness ? What players will step up to fill the shoes of graduating seniors ?

Me too. Good post. I am really looking forward to some of the position group battles, and to see the competition between the O and D. I think this is going to be a hotly contested Spring.

MA said it would be "a physical spring practice."
Enough said.

Cant be to physical of a spring. Half the returners are coming off surgery of some sort. I would like to see them develop the playbook and finding some hidden gems that red shirted. I do have an issue with our strength, conditioning, and durability program. This is 3rd year we have had an abundance of injuries post season.

Im really looking forward to the RB battles. Will Gay, Lennox, Pace, Windham, and Stoddard will be good competition.

Next I would say DL, which may ended up being the strength of the team. Perlotte, Zamary, Bryant, Vaughn, Brown, Mangum, and Cornellier will be a great rotation. Add in the incoming Frosh who look like they can contribute now and we have something special

We have had issues in this area for years. El Cid hired a new Strength and Conditioning coach in the last year or so and VERY happy with the results! I think it is an incredibly important position but I am sure we have $$ issue there like every position.

GO TERRIERS!!!

Don't forget Curtis, who has done some good things. Boudreaux too.

And speaking of scrimmages at Gibbs...some of you have asked about the ongoing partnership with Spartanburg High to use Wofford's Stadium. That appears to be coming to an end. Check out the 7-figure that we'll be leaving behind.

I think that, despite the money, the sooner SHS is gone the better. We want a stadium that is our own and no one else's. Not to mention the problems hosting high school football games can bring to campus...of course I'm a 1990 Dorman graduate and I hate SHS so there's that too...

If I were a local taxpayer, I would not like this. While the amounts paid to Wofford appear to be large, they are in fact small when compared to the long term cost of buying land and constructing a separate new stadium, and then paying the entire cost to maintain it. Creating synergy and cost sharing for such large assets in a community saves a lot of money and fosters communication and cooperation among users. Having said that, I realize there are other concerns than just financial ones, relating to control, empire building, generating new economic activity, and such.

With the assistance of the Panthers, we have created a beautiful stadium and related facilities; working to share them, while acknowledging our first priority as the owner, is the best course for everyone involved, certainly including the taxpayers.

Although I am a long way away and have no dog in the fight, the whole idea of individual stadiums is a very interesting topic. Here in my city the oldest high school does not have its own stadium and there is a push to build one in a makeshift ridiculous area. The whole idea of a stadium for each high school to be used for football and soccer on just a few days per year is totally ridiculous and so indicative of our society. Those high school games should be played at various times throughout the weeks like they do up north, and use that money being spent for less than 200 hours of use per year on the real purpose of public schools-EDUCATION.

+ 1. I would hope our new indoor arena could be made available to the community in a way that enhances our prestige and reputation, and saves taxpayers money.

Back to the topic of the thread, the spring 2016 roster is up. Able, Seth Marshall, Nodim, among others are notably absent.
Only 3 CBs listed: Armfield, Lemon, and Gbessee.
No new faces but some numbers changed.
Only position switch I could discern is Ausryn Hemmings from S to WR.
Higbie still listed so maybe he will be back.
