Ruckus one name that we have discussed is coming back and from what I'm hearing he'll be there in the spring and moving back to corner...Jamario Williams. That gives us a whopping 4! The expectation for Jamario, even though he hasn't played much is that he will contribute in a meaningful way and provide some depth. I sure hope so.

I seriously doubt it will be a very physical or eventful spring for 1 of those 4...

Add in the most of the linebackers aren't all the way back from surgery either. Will be a thin defensive group.

19, to the corners? Hadn't heard that, from what mine is being told, there's only those 4 until fall. But I think he'd be great over there, and now we have a few safeties, so it makes sense.

I think it is being suggested Watson may be moved to corner ... nothing wrong with him (I hope).

Glad to hear Jamario may be getting PT. He was a very promising recruit, and then really dropped off the radar.

Anyone know what happened to Marshall?

Love the idea of Watson at corner!
I suspect Marshall did not come back. I thought it was significant that we signed 3 RBs with Gay returning.
As I recall, Jamario had an offer from Univ. of Arizona and was a Shrine Bowl selection. Highly thought of.

I think Devin is like the bear; he can do it wherever he wants to. Expect great things from him.

Scanning the roster= quite the strong nucleus of experience and talent on both sides of the ball and special teams. Add the incoming or RS frosh, and this squad can be playing in December. Looking forward to seeing how players/team shake out during the next couple of weeks.

Parents T19, T2, T6, et al...thanks for your updates and insights.

OK lawdog, I'll take a swat at it.........without any "inside" information, and not seeing any recruiting camps, this is the best I can do.

OL - 7
RB/QB - 6
Receivers - 8
Kicking/Return - 5
DL - 6
LB - 6
DB - 5

Good idea ld. And I too look forward to any and all reports on spring practice. Just to make sure I am clear on this, rating is as ld suggested 1-10 where 1 is least rating and 10 is most. If ok with Terrier fans I am going to add one although I am having a tough time coming up with a name. But I think I will call it 'clutch' or 'intangibles' meaning how well this part of the team comes up with a play when we really need it. If anyone does not like it then no problem you don't have to include it.

OL
optimism 9
talent 9
experience and depth 9
clutch, intangibles
going out on a limb 10
but these guys will have to be better than last year although I am confident they will do just that and more.
IMHO the OL is one key part of the team. If OL gels and dominates then we have a good chance at a good season

RB/QB
optimism 9
talent 9
experience and depth 8
clutch, intangibles 9
these guys have experience, talent. just a matter of making the plays when we need them

Receivers
optimism 8
talent 9
experience and depth 6
clutch, intangibles 7
a lot of talent but not much experience

Kicking/returning
optimism
talent
experience and depth
clutch, intangibles
Looks like from looking at the roster at least two kickers left. Although Carter is still with us

DL
optimism 8
talent 9
experience and depth 6
clutch, intangibles 8
some have good experience and others almost no experience but a lot of talent
LB
optimism 9
talent 9
experience and depth 8
clutch, intangibles 9

DB
optimism 8
talent 8
experience and depth 7
clutch, intangibles 9
