Mercer's Football Marketing

Having been down there for the game this past year, I saw first hand how hard they push the program in the community and the sponsorships it brings. I wonder if this kind of thing pays off or not - ... E-Takeover

It's not just an athletics hype machine. My son has been getting information from Mercer and it's nice, well put together and very appealing stuff. They are leveraging their brand in a lot of avenues and have generated a look and feel for Mercer that cuts across all aspects of their relationship with the public. They have a very good school with a lot of nice programs and what they are doing will promote that along with everything else they have to offer. I'm not sure what it all translates to in the end, but it is certainly innovative and worth taking a look at. I'm not sure it's within Wofford's culture to be that bold in the self-promotion arena, but as a similar school that suffers from a general lack of public awareness, I hope our administration is at least looking at what Mercer is doing and considering the possibilities.
