Great disappointment in all of Panthers land. It hurts that Denver won the game with just defense, and that the roof just caved in on the Panthers. Sometimes in sports it just seems that everything goes wrong for one team and all of the breaks go to the other. From the non-reversal on the Cotchery catch to the fact that every bouncing ball went to Denver-it just wasn't to be. Ironic that one of the greatest ever QB's was relegated to a role of making sure their offense just didn't turn it over; betting that the Panthers couldn't do anything with it once they got the ball. What a ride, though. The Panthers brought both the Carolinas together and truly made us their team. Dave Gettleman has got his hands full this off season filling holes and plugging gaps; but for the first time in team history the future seems bright and secure. They made us proud of the Wofford connection in so many ways. Proud to be a short haired dog Panther fan.

Clearly, the game didn't go as planned for Carolina and that is heartbreaking. Still, the Panthers have a lot to be proud of and a bright future. Next year's team will be different, but should be among the 3-4 best in the NFC so another run is a strong possibility. For once, a great Panthers season isn't a swan song for a team full of veterans or a last gasp before being crushed under the salary cap.

As a Wofford student, my roommate and I went down to the Pine Street K-Mart the day after the Panthers were awarded to Charlotte and bought our first Panthers gear and I've been a fan ever since, but no matter what, I am proud of the team, impressed by what they have done and looking forward to years of success going forward.

As with any big game, there are plenty of pundits in the media who have plenty to say. Some criticism may be valid, but in all, the story here is an amazing game plan and team win by Denver. We all know that every once in a while the luck just runs out and you end up with a bad game. That happened for Carolina yesterday.
