What a class forming........
Jeresaty LOI received too.

Take that, El Cid! Our players aren't the only SHD's. Look's like our coaches don't give up either. "As long as there is life left in that little dog's body..."

The last LOI is in and the class is now complete with QB Joe Newman.
Time to celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!
Best class on paper that we have ever had. By my count, 5 2-star (including Newman at QB; our first ranked QB recruit ever?) and 1 3-star commits for those who keep up those types of things. Almost every kid is All-State I think. Heck of a job by our coaches. Also good to see us recruit heavy in SC. Nothing against out of state recruits but sometimes the culture and distance takes some real adjustment.
My favorite: Mason Alstatt. Will play safety for us but apparently played all offense this year and averaged like 7 yards a carry as a RB with 17 TDS (and ran back a number of KO returns for TDs). Alstatt was runner up Mr. Football in Ky (!).
That said, I would be shocked if D. Wilson, Joe Newman, and Ostin McPherson didn't play or even start immediately.
Those RBs will really help us too. Love the big CB in Redwood. Brown and J. Wilson are players too. Love the OLs who will help down the road. Love DL Horton who will walk in from day one as our biggest DL on the roster (will probably lose a few lbs and "lean up" over the next few years.

DeStephano did not sign, as of this point. Perhaps he was an invited walk-on, and will be added later together with a few more, which is not unusual (?)

Love the OL's ... watch out for Brooks.

We are very deep at experienced LB's, but Wilson could get PT early. Looking at McPherson's film again, he is amazing. Newman no doubt will be exciting, but cannot see him moving Evan out. But, the competition will be fierce with all the talent, old and new, we will have.

This class seems to have more to be excited about, top to bottom, than some past classes; fewer unknown quantities or marginal offers.

The "star" thing is hard to rely on; will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Just got home from the NSD party.
Coaches seem very happy. Lighter looser happier this year. Less tired and worn out.
Heard MA and Lang compare Newman to Graves. Chapman compared to Jesse McCoy.
Lots of records setters and winners in this class. Good students. And more importantly all described as great young men with high character. Lots come from strong families and support. Lang said Newman's parents were sold on WiCo before he was. Fuqua mentioned how much his young daughter liked Jireh Wilson and vice versa. Almost all all state honored and several multiple times.
Ayers admitted he is getting a slower but stressed the fire and passion is still there. Talked with him a while and he looks great. Never would guess he was even 60 yrs old much less 70. He truly is timeless.
Good event. Different vibe this year. We won a bunch of battles and had much of the hay in the barn before NSD. So coaches were looser.
MA said we will have a very physical and competitive Spring Practice. No jobs are assured. Wants competition at every position.
Kudos to our staff for their hard work. A job well done.

I like this format. Upbeat and energetic, but it leaves the details of each player's story to be written by the player, in the future.
