Something we haven't really discussed much.....

Postby 19TERRIER19 on Tue Oct 06, 2015 11:13 am

We are playing our 4th road game in the first 6 games. If we can dig deep and come away with another tough SoCon road victory, we will have 4 of the remaining 5 games at home, with the only remaining road game at VMI. With Furman @ Chatt and WCU @ Mercer this week, some things could really shake out in Wofford's favor. If we can get this ultra important win, Wofford is truly in the driver's seat and control their own destiny. Obviously the schedule only gets tougher as the season goes on, but I love our spot, hosting those 4 contests at Gibbs, where we do not lose. GOT TO DEFEND OUR HOME TURF. Getting this win means the world to positioning in the conference. LEts go get em......

Agree wholeheartedly 19T. It's important to get the early wins, especially on the road, so as not to have to be digging and scratching for those late season "must wins". Also puts our SoCon competition on notice that we're baaack, and "bad to the bone"! Can't wait for this one.

Three of our losses last year were to teams to which we travelled for two consecutive years (Chatty, FU, and WCU). For the first time in 3 years, we have scheduling that works in out favor.
