I think this could be the toughest game on the schedule. Team that knows us very well. Who's had an extra week of healing and prep time to prepare for us. If we can go win this one on the road. The TDOGS can put themselves in the driver seat having 4 of the remaining 5 at home

It will be hard for them to practice outdoors in Charleston until the middle of the week.

That's a good point. I assume it's been tough sledding to get good practices in this week for them due to the weather

Does anybody know how bye weeks are given/scheduled by the comference? Are teams able to pick them or is it just random (in theory)?
Very strange that in back to back weeks we play teams who have enjoyed bye weeks in prep for us.

My understanding is that most scheduling goes through the conference office. Conference games are slotted around OOC commitments and in many cases OOC teams (or conferences) contact the SoCon office to see who's available for particular weekends and then once a possible pairing is found then the two programs can decide if they want the game. For example, I would imagine our rotating deals with Clemson and South Carolina come directly between us and them, but games like Tennessee Tech and Idaho probably started with conference to conference contact. I found it unusual that we had two straight opponents getting byes before playing us, but I don't sense a conspiracy. A couple seasons ago Alabama had 4-5 of these situations. Now, if it was Chattanooga and Furman getting byes, then I might be a little more upset. While I think the extra prep time probably helped Mercer, I doubt it is as big of a factor as the healing time is for The Citadel since they are familiar with most of our sets from their own offensive package. But, beyond all that, I expect them to come at us with hammer and tongs because of the recent history. They may not be able to get much outside practice in, but I feel certain they've seen enough highlights to make them remember why they want to pay us back.

I agree this one is going to be a toughie. Haven't made it to any games so far this year, but I certainly remember the one last year at home against El Cid. We had a fight on our hands from beginning to end. Especially the defensive stop down on the goal line at the end. And I'll bet the outhouse they're thinking of that stop also. If our D gets their backs up, and we get physical, I can see a W on the road again. I'm stoked for this one!

I would not be surprised if this game was moved to a neutral site or to Gibbs. It may even be postponed. Don't know how they could do it based on remaining scheduling. I just don't see a football game being played in Chucktown come Saturday.

It would be nice for me if they moved it to Gibbs. I will be in Spartanburg for next weekend.

Over the course of the streak, home field has been a relative disadvantage. The two closest calls with last minute goal line stands were both at Gibbs.

Charleston floods routinely and will dry out quickly

For some reason TuneIn Radio is not letting me pick up the Coach Ayers Show. Can't get it on the website either. Too bad, as I was looking forward to the coach's comments.

Me either. And I haven't seen an Inside Wofford Football released as well. Was trying to listen to the show as well. Anyone know what's going on

I heard Charleston is still under water. Do we have any Terriers in Charleston to give us an update?

I posted the question about flooding on El Cid's message board and they said some roads at one end were flooded but the other end was fine. Also said the field is pretty high and should be fine by game day.

GO TERRIERS!!!

I'm in Charleston. Schools are closed again here tomorrow, but I think that is mostly precautionary. It is supposed to be sunny the rest of the week. I'm guessing we will be a little soggy, but good to go by Saturday.
