Being outplayed, out coached in all phases of the game. If there are any optimists left out there I'd love to hear from you. I just don't have much left in me.

Teaching high school biology and chemistry. Now I am a newly promoted senior RP in the nuclear power plant business. A lot has changed in my life since we last lost to these guys.

We have officially reached the nadir as a program. Totally dominated by a club team that lost handily Chuck Southern. No imagination, no adjustments, just stubborn ineptitude from the coaching staff. 8 of 11 possessions we gained less than 20 yards.

Well, not much to say about that thing. Got totally dominated from the sidelines to the playing field.

64 total plays

52 runs

12 passes

Not at all what I expected!

An advance stab at this week's SoCon Power Ratings:

1. Chattanooga
2. Samford
3. The Citadel
4. Furman
5. Wofford
6. Mercer
7. Western Carolina
8. VMI

Five of those teams remain on our schedule.

If we don't improve, we will have a losing season.

We're officially at a crossroads for this season. We have got to step up.

Let me add something here before I get too far into the Irish whiskey: coaches don't make plays, players do.
That said, we were not ready to play today. Looked very sluggish. They punched us in the mouth and we didn't answer.
We are hurt up, lots of injuries. But the road only gets tougher from here. We will be lucky to win another 3 games.
Carry on.

The players make the plays, but it is the coaches' job to get them ready.

What we have learned, and should have already known, is that a well-executed option offense is hard to stop. We used to run an offense like that.

Have we done anything except three-and-out on our first series of any game this year? Even in the one game Jacks started, we started out with a three-and-out. Whatever the problem is, it is a recurrent problem.

The problem is that everyone in the stadium knows exactly what we are going to do on virtually every play. If we don't have the personnel to announce what we are going to do and then execute it, we need to try something else. Simple, or so it seems.

Maybe a bigger problem is that Citadel is better than we are; pretty stout group, and we gave them momentum and confidence early with mistakes, and they never lost it. We can realistically win every game we have left, or lose every game. It is that kind of league this year. Being at home should help a lot.
