Hate to say it.....but the forecast isn't good at this point for Saturday. 50% chance of rain. Just hope it isn't 2013 type rain.

http://woffordterriers.com/documents/20 ... tes_15.pdf Notes.

GWU had 138 yards total offense in winning last week, but their D stood tall in the red zone. Their QB was out.

Has anyone heard how bad Will Gay's injury was/is? Or are we allowed to talk about it.
He isn't on two-deep for this sat. He was not putting much, if any weight on his leg when he came off.
Hope it's not as bad as it looked.

Coach Ayers during his show said they would know more after getting the MRI back but that Chris Martin would be in his place this week. From what I understand, Martin is dynamic and will make plays for us. He has been working on grasping the full complexity of our playbook, per coach Ayers. Wishing Will the best and a speedy recovery and excited for Chris to get a shot and to see what he will add to the offense. I think we are on the verge of seeing something special building. We are undefeated in the FCS, and need to stay that way. Defend our home turf.

I always loathe this game. No big upside to a W, but big downside to a L. Plus we are coming off a physical FBS game that saw a few injuries and also required 2 long flights which throws off our preparation. Conference play begins the following week. GW always defends us well. To me, this all sets us up for a classic trap game. I hope I am wrong, but worry we may not be ready to put our best foot forward. Hopefully, the homefield re-kindles the fire of the team we saw beat T. Tech.

This isn't my favorite OOC game to play, but it's not a bad series to keep going based off our preference for not playing long road trip games unless bigger money is on the table. As for motivation, I think Mercer sets up as more of a trap than G-W. We have a proud program with proud coaches and proud players. The only thing that needs to be on the bulletin board this week is: "Two consecutive losses head to head versus Gardner-Webb".

Yes, I get that MA thinks the offense should grind it out and keep the ball as long as we can.... but the elephant in the room is still the 10-15 yard buffer we continue to give opponents' receivers... Why isn't that ever addressed? Why don't we dial up some more blitzes and keep opponents guessing, rather than dropping back into that same infuriatingly SOFT bend but don't break zone? We've got better athletes, yet we still refuse to put them in a position to be successful with this scheme.
