Young Terrier, you are absolutely correct--We played the best team on that list, by far--Not only that, there is no team on that list that we will not be capable of beating--That Clemson team is going to compete for a National Championship--They have got speed and athleticism at every skill position, and great size--I think our performance yesterday is more of a testament to the ability of Clemson, than a statement about our competitiveness at our level--We got beat in 03 40-0 at Airforce and were undefeated in the SoCon.

YT, been long time. How are you?

PS, you are exactly right. I wouldn't take anything from losing to a Clemson team that might be the best team they have had in years.

If anything, my take is the conference might be a little more wide open than original expected. FU's problem is we will probably now start 0-3 (team better keep its head up) and we play Chat, Samford, WCU and WC away. Still looking forward to it. Maybe I will see you and DJ at the game in November.

I would be really concerned about Samford. They whooped Central Arkansas, a really good program. Even if Central Arkansas is down, they wouldn't be bottom tier in the Socon, they would be about as good as we were the last couple years, so keep an eye out on them. The Hatch Attack is back.

I'm moving this post to a new thread that is more appropriate.
I have been online watching most of our 2015 opponents play someone somewhere, and my eyes are wide open. I don't see a cupcake out there anywhere. Not sure where some have gotten the impression Tenn Tech is a pushover, but they are playing Houston tough in the first half. Furman hanging tough with Coastal. Chatty lost to Jack St. GW doing just fine, thank you. Wish we were playing Davidson! We had better get our act together.

If Wofford responds, refocuses on the task at hand, fixes the errors that were exposed Saturday and executes on par with its talent, then every remaining game should be within reach. That's not to say I think we run the table 2003-style, but I think we'll have a chance in each game. For now, the goal is to get past the next two games with wins to build momentum. Everything else is too far down the road to worry about.

Several things from these results:

Citadel over WCU by 18 surprises me...how big of an upset is this? Maybe Citadel is a team to really be reckoned with in the conference this season. Or maybe WCU ws rated too highly.

Chatty definitely seeems human after their result against Mars Hill. They are still the favorites until someone in the conference beats them, but they definitely seem beatable. Of course I didn't see their game and that score could be misleading.

I Know USC is a major power, but we really should be able to play with Idaho next week and I will be very disappointed if we aren't able to. Idaho has to be one of FBS's worst teams. The Sun Belt is kind of like a glorified FCS conference to me anyway.

A couple of things. First, Chatty was challenged the whole game by what should be a very weak opponent. Second, The Bellhops destroyed Western-wasn't close. Their TO looked strong, and I was very impressed with their defense. It would be very easy to think that they have turned the corner and will be a very good team. I actually thought that Furman would do better against VT. Elon beat GW in OT. Have a hard time not wishing Elon would lose every game.

I watched a little of Idaho and Ohio on espn3. Idaho on paper does not look very good but they still are a dangerous opponent. We will most definitely have to bring our A game. Also watched GW and they look decent too but did not watch more than a few minutes. I did not watch either game enough to make more of a comment that that. Only conclusion is that neither game will be easy and we had better be ready to play. Watched most of Chatt Mars Hill. Chatt was lucky as it was a close game even with Mars Hill a DII program. Mars Hill making it that close was not a fluke. They were actually moving the ball against Chatt. Chatt was unable to stop their offense consistently although MH had some big plays that could possibly have gone the other way. Regardless Chatt did not look good especially while they were on D. Interesting to see what happens next week against Sammy. From looking at Sammy and Chatt games so far this year Sammy looks to be the favorite.

Back to Idaho. If we play well and make no big mistakes then we will have a chance. GO TERRIERS !!!!!
