Not Burgers and Fries.

It is early, we know, but can you name five guys this year who at this point you think will have excellent (not just good) years, and briefly why.

I'll start:

Wahrby ... focused, talented, experienced, with the size and skills to back it up.

Jacks ... this is the year it becomes intuitive, his 10,000 hours and all that, something to prove.

Miller ... Underrated too long, now experienced and hefty, and relied upon ... ready to break out.

Speller ... Really experienced, great size and presence, ready to show what he truly is made of.

Morris ... The talent and speed now have experience to complement them.

Wow !!! There are so many to choose from. I will have to give this some thought. This is not easy but it is a good 'problem' because we have so many talented and experienced players. First time through the roster I picked all players that would be candidates and believe it or not I found 21 and I felt like I was leaving out some players that deserved the distinction. So IMHO there are many more than 5 that can meet the requirements. I am unable to get it down to 5 without eliminating players that are only a hair below the 5. Or even in some respects equal to the 5. My 5 are Jacks, Michaelson, Colvin, R. Smith and Gay. But I have to give honorable mention to Armfield, Ward, Long, Green, Morris, Roach, Chamberlin, Wahrby and Speller. And there are others too that could do it if the opportunity arises. And then there are the Fr and R-Fr players that will play a leading role in the future and possibly this year.

If we have so much greatness then why do the coaches and media think so little of us? No one sees us as more than a middle of the pack team in the SoCon. I guess I will be skeptical until I see some results.

Season turn of a few plays and players are the one who make (or don't make) those plays. After the past two seasons, I understand how some could be skeptical but in my mind we are back to the level of a playoff team until proven otherwise. Programs go through growth spurts and growing pains like anything else and I believe we are coming out of one of those cycles.
