See on Twitter that we've apparently received a commitment from Kent Phelps of Paintsville(?). Not sure if you know anything about this kid Ruckus.

Yes, he is on this string.
He was actually our first verbal commitment of 2017. RB/WR/Ath from Painstville High, a small high school in eastern Ky. 6'0" 195 lbs. purportedly runs a near sub-4.5. Semi-finalist for Mr. Ky Football in his school's division.

We have offered DL Chris Monroe Fromm Petal High in Miss. I think this is where former S coach Phillip Piggot is coaching. 6'1" 266; runs a 4.7 and benches 355 and squats 535. We are his second D1 offer. Film looks good.

We appear to be in very good position with a number of promising prospects so far.

That said, are there one or two positions where we feel we especially need to get some good prospects this time?

I would suggest that we need an excellent RB or two. We have some good ones now, including Morgan, McAfee, McPherson, Pace, Chapman, Nelson, Stoddard and perhaps Riazzi. Do we need a signature go-to back, such as our last two #7's who each had heft and strength plus agility and durability, or can we mix it up a little more?

Thoughts on most important needs this time?

Merry Christmas to all. I am thinking about the next few years and hopefully beyond. This year was a very good that will be hard to beat. So will the Terriers be as good as this year in '17 ? Or better ? It will not be easy to be as good but I think we have a good chance of doing that and even be better. Because we have a lot and I mean a lot of good players coming back. I think we have some super players - Newman, D. Wilson as well as many more. But more important is that all of the two deep (and a few more in places) are very good so much that we do not have any significant weaknesses. Other teams will have a hard time exploiting anything. Exception could be our lack of passing on O. If we continue to run the ball all of the time then the other team's D can crowd the line and stop the run as we have already seen. But throwing in a pass now and then to keep them honest will make a big difference. So hopefully the O will open up more and become more unpredictable. And I think with Goodson's experience this year in the passing game will help him become better next year and so our O will open up more as a result. And with Newman the other teams will have to respect his running ability which should open up passes to open receivers as well as pitches to the FBs and HBs. To sum it up I am confident that the Terriers will be a better team next year and maybe the best we have ever had. What do my fellow Terrier fans think ? I admit I am going out on a limb somewhat but not so far that the limb will break and all will come crashing down. Even with the O staying the same we should still have a good year.

is Goodman coming back next year? Butler is not and they are in the same class. Will Newman's prominent presence cause him to reconsider taking his 5th year? I hope he comes back because we could use the depth. I hope he chooses to fight to get even better to compete for starting position!

GO TERRIERS!!!

Pretty sure Goodson is coming back ... there has been no mention that he is not.

This article says there are 28 players who are not coming back. All will be missed of course but it does not mention Goodson so I am assuming he is coming back. Scroll down to the bottom. http://www.woffordterriers.com/news/201 ... h=football
