You never know until NSD, of course. Hard to say that Wilson won't still sign with us. And certainly, as last year, two or three great prospects we have not mentioned here will sign on late (such as Miles Brown and Helligar).

IMHO If a player does not have the attitude and disposition to be a SHD then it is better that he decommit and give a chance to another player who does have it. I would rather have a guy who is a true SHD no matter how many stars he has than a guy that is supposed to be more talented but does not have the Terrier mentality. I am not knocking Wilson. If he chooses to go elsewhere and his heart is not in it then so be it. He and the Terriers are better off. Unless of course he really does have it to be a true SHD but I doubt that if he is leaving. Anyway that is just my 2 cents worth.

Also about JaVaughn Craig. Will Healy - former assistant coach at Chatt - recently took the HC job at Austin Peay. So it appears that is why Craig signed with AP - because Healy is now at AP. So maybe Chatt is just now starting what we just recently went through - that of losing coaches as well as losing their best player (Jacob Huseman) and losing recruits to other teams.

I hate to see Wofford lose committed players, but I hate to see us lose transfers even more. If Wilson, or any other player doesn't feel 100% behind their commitment to Wofford then I think they are better to go somewhere else (both for us and themselves). Wofford has a unique opportunity for those who was interested in it. Wofford isn't the best choice for everyone and it is certainly far from the only choice. Players should be comfortable with where they end up and if that means that some decide to go elsewhere then so be it.

We have been on him and actively recruiting him it appears all year. I would be surprised if we hadn't made a smaller offer or preferred walkon offer before now.
The problem Is now apparently he has committed to PC and he will have to de-commit from the to come to us which is the same thing Wilson did essentially.
Moral of the story: verbal commits mean nothing until that LOI is signed and returned.

Maybe we should call them something besides "Commitments".

These are 17 and 18 year old young men, not far from being boys, who are often easily swayed by fast-talking recruiters.

To me, no prospective Terrier is committed until he matriculates and shows up on campus, and even then we have lost a few over the years who get homesick within a week.

Gasparato tweeted twice in 2 hours about 2 commitments and his "house" being full. Fuqua tweeted late last night about 2 "SC black shirts" committing (defensive players). One of those is confirmed is LB Brandon Brown from Ashley Ridge but I cannot find the other. Anybody got any idea?
I think we want another DB (Paschal) but that should be about it except for walking and/or academic/partial guys. Class should be about done.

Soconrecruiting has a new addition. this must be the unknown defensive player. LB John Destefano (5-11 205 4.7) Charleston, SC.
Apparently he is a top notch student because his GPA is 4.3 and 31 on the ACT

Like him. Good awareness, balance, versatility, and physicality. Reminds me a little of EB but not as big, yet. Not sure about the quality of the league he is in.

Looks like we picked up a short haired dog! DB out of Atlanta, Darron Paschal has committed. With the loss of other DB's due to graduation and Able no longer with us could be inline to contribute this season. Undersized as a Safety but if legit 4.4 as advertise then could be in the mix with Armfield, Lemon, and Gbeese and the blackshirts

CB Darron Paschal has verbally committed to us. Jay should just about put on a bow on this class.
