SoCon Scores 9/16

Postby BestOfBreed on Sat Sep 16, 2006 11:39 pm

Presbyterian 0
Elon 28
Final
PC has nothing that resembles a QB on the roster.

Mars Hill 0
App State 41
Final
Armanti Edwards started at QB for App State. Elder started the 2nd half I think.

Eastern Kentucky 17
Western Carolina 20
Final
Nice win for Western. Gonna be a big game this week @ Furman for them.

Furman 42
North Carolina 45
Final
Furman ran the GSU offense except more passing :) They did the same thing against Clemson a couple of years ago... they went back to their normal offense the rest of the year that year so not sure if they do it this year. Great game by the Paladins.

Chattanooga 21
West. Kentucky 28
Final
I'm a little disappointed in the Mocs. I really thought they would win this one pretty easily.

Coastal Carolina 21
Georgia Southern 38
Final
GSU is back.

Other scores of note:
Bethune-Cookman 45
SC State 21
Final
Ouch. SC State sitting at home again for the playoffs?

Gardner-Webb 9
Tenn-Martin 35
Final
Gardner-Webb gets App State this week.

thanks for giving my paladins some props - we put up OVER 500 YARDS OF OFFENSE ON UNC!!!!!! (they puit up over 400+ on us)......I don't care how bad they are they still have some nice atheletes...we just wore down in the end. Interesting note - we were the first team to outgain UNC this year - they outgained Rutgers and Vtech but turned the ball over too many times to come out with a W.
go paladins

I object!

Furman actually ran a pretty standard offense. Interestingly, it was UNC who was resorting to play-actions, reverses and overall deceitfulness.

I still have no idea what YOUR score was, though. Did you guys quit the conference, BestofBreed?

That's a usual UNC-CH trait. Maybe that's biased since I loath the existence of that athletic program. LOL

We have to play with consistency before I would say we’re ‘back.’ The team did play a lot better against Coastal then CCSU.
