Coastal Carolina (0-1) at Wofford (1-0), 7:00
After winning game after game in the final minute last year against opponents that it should have handled, shaky play finally came back to bite the Chanticleers in a game they couldn’t recover in last week. Coastal Carolina scored one fourth-quarter touchdown in a 23-20 loss to Elon, but four turnovers helped waste an effort of more than 100 yards rushing and more than 300 yards passing. Playing at Wofford won’t make things any easier, and the Chants already have their backs against the wall if they have any chance to obtain the playoff berth that eluded them last year. The Terriers played well in a 28-21 win against a good South Carolina State team last week, and are usually tough at home. They even exhibited some ability to pass the ball, with 124 yards on 9-of-13 passing. But Coastal Carolina is better than it showed last week, and has the defensive line and linebackers to slow the Wofford running game. Though he threw two interceptions last week, quarterback Tyler Thigpen has won close games in the past and the Chants have an experienced, senior-laden roster that should recover from last week’s loss. The Chants will play yet another close game, but they will bounce back with a victory at Wofford. Prediction: Coastal Carolina 24, Wofford 21

I hope Mike has this posted in the locker room as he seems to relish the underdog role. It does kind of fire me up too. We still don't get any respect.

I'll take the underdog role all the way to the playoffs...
