Smooth flexible hips, quick burst, and great leverage/pad level. I like him better as a LB although he is impressive running and catching the ball too. Put 10-20 lbs on him and he is all-SoCon material. Will be interesting to see if we play him inside or outside.
I like him as much as the Trotter kid.
Now for the Cali kid. If he is as impressive, this class tops last year.

Ruck,
"Smooth flexible hips" ??? I normally would have to instantly comment on this , but I will give you a one time pass seeing how you all are caught up in the recruiting excitement this week.

While I am most certainly caught up in the recruiting whirlwind, don't hold back on my account, Northend.
Some kids have stiff hips and have trouble turning and bending them; they lack flexibility. This kid can: he is a really talented athlete. Like that athleticism on the defensive side of the ball.

Looks like a good kid. I'll take big, fast, strong, mobile, and smart anyday. Great pick up. =D>

While I agree with your on the field analysis of the player. My comments and ribbing would be more sophomoric in nature and have nothing to due with football.

Not only is he very athletic, he can also play a number of positions. During his H.S. career he's played SS, FS, OLB, RB, and lined-up at TE/WR, but I personally feel he will be a bigger assesst on the defensive side of the ball. As a bonus, Travis is personable, respectful and as much about academics as he is athletics.

Sounds like a thick-necked Short Haired Dog if there ever was one!!!! Welcome to the Wofford family, Travis! And welcome to our board, Newfan. Glad to have you both join us. Good things lie ahead. Really excited about the quality of student-athletes and young men we are attracting.

I've been waiting on pins and needles this weekend to hear about Travis Thomas. News of his signing made a lot of us on this board very happy! =D> =D>

Sounds like a perfect fit for the Terrier Nation. I cannot wait to see him in the Old Gold & Black uniform. :yay: :yay: Welcome aboard. =D> :clap2: =D> :clap2: =D>

I just found and watched film on incoming RB Donovan Johnson from Union Grove High in Ga. Jr season is very very impressive. Sr season it looks like he may have lost a step. Does anyone know if he was injured or dinged up? A knee injury maybe? Just curious.
BTW - he looks just like KJ and runs like him too.

I haven't seen the Johnson video, but I wonder about that too, only because some of the recruiting websites indicate that at one time he was getting interest from the likes of Florida State, Auburn, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, and Georgia Tech. No offers were forthcoming, however.

Still discussing recruits, but moving on to a couple of others. First, I would feel better if the college would add Travis Thomas to our list of signees on the website. I still haven't seen or heard anything official. And second, what about the mysterious California kid who supposedly visited campus last weekend. Any word on him?

I am imagine they are waiting on the Cali kid's commitment before announcing both. Sounds like it is in the offing and a pretty sure thing; just a matter of getting him in to sign the LOI. I imagine MA wouldn't have announced 2 more to be signed unless they felt pretty good about it. I have worked Google to death trying to find out who this kid could be. Still no clue. Logic would hold it's a kid who Air Force or Cal Poly showed some interest in but that is simply gross speculation at this point.

A reasonable speculation. We'll just keep waiting then.

Okay, here is my shot in the dark on the kid from Cali: Rayvione Mouton from Cathedral High in L.A. 6'1" 265 lbs, DT/NG. 3.8 GPA. Recruited by a host of West Coast schools and signed by none. Called a sleeper. I say this only because I had heard we had another NG coming in. Fits our NG specs to a tee and has great grades from a pretty good private school in L.A.
Again, a complete guess.
