according to the State newspaper this morning, it is a possibility.

:D :D :D :D

This could be good exposure for our program. I hope we can play them well.

When will it be decided how many games 1-AA play next year?
If they up the number will the terriers get to show their stuff against 2 1-A schools?
How does playing a 1-a and getting beat affect a school compared to playing
a Div II and winning?

You have to have 7 division 1 wins to be eligible for at-large playoff consideration. I would be shocked if we played more than one I-A school since that would pretty much mean having to win the SoCon autobid to make the playoffs (see App State this year). Personally, I would rather play a bad I-AA school than a division II since the d2 win doesn't help you much. I-A losses hurt you but the goal seems to be to at least keep it close. App State had 2 I-A losses but kept it close in the LSU game and I guess for that reason was able to still garner a seed in the playoffs with an 8-3 record (doesn't hurt to have the AD on the committee either :D ).

As stated, 7 D-I wins needed for playoff consideration, or in Wofford's case apparantly you need 10 or 12! Playing D-II schools is a waste of time in my opinion-nothing at all to gain...at least playing I-AA competition the polls respect you more. But as for I-A vs I-AA games, I'd schedule a I-A over a I-AA any day, because a I-A game is 1) a big Payday 2) Doesn't really factor in the mix with playoffs if you keep your I-A games competitive(which Wofford always does) and beat the teams you need to on the schedule 3) Losing to a non-conference I-AA school takes you completely out of consideration for the playoffs unless you win your conference. As for the Carolina game, could be a long day for the DBs...I doubt we've ever seen an offense like we'll see in USC next year...I just hope kevious can keep the carolina offense off of the field. Go Terriers!
