The Lawdog, Littlegiants, Crabby, and Ruckus crews all had a great dinner last night in Laramie. A good time was had by all.
Yesterday, LD and the Mrs took a nice hike while LG, BKnecht (an adopted Terrier from the Shenandoah Valley) and I played a little golf at the UWyo Course (we missed you, Boulder). Toured Laramie a little and got to sneak on the playing surface of the War Memorial stadium. Been watching 5 mule deer a mere hundred yards behind our hotel this morning (one was big buck (5 by 5)). Different world. Nice folks. Curious about Wofford and more than a little amused we traveled all this way to see our little team play. Lots of questions like are we division 2, where is wofford, and are we in the path of the hurricane. They fully expect to win but they also lament there 2 losses and say they aren’t that good.
UW is a pretty school with great cowboy, cowgirl and Indian statues dotted around. Athletic facilities are all brand new and top notch. Gorgeous new basketball arena. Saw the equipment team yesterday after they got in. Everybody is ready to go. FYI - miles brown did not make the trip. Altitude will be an issue for us (8,000 feet above sea level) so depth is an issue. It is unseasonably warm here (mid 80s) and very arid dry air which makes altitude issue worse re hydration. Looking for a good competitive game. If we can hang in and keep it close, who knows.
